A Chicago woman has been slapped with an attempted murder charge in a shooting that left a man wounded last month, authorities said.

Ceceelia Wilson, 52, who hails from the 7900 block of S. Crandon Ave., was cuffed on Sunday after cops fingered her as the shooter in the February 9 attack. Police allege that Wilson was the triggerwoman who, around 10 p.m. that night, gunned down a 57-year-old man in the 2800 block of W. 87th St. Wilson is expected to now face a judge for a detention hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.

Details of the incident remain scant but according to the Chicago Police Department, the victim suffered injuries after the alleged confrontation turned violent. The nature of the dispute and the current condition of the injured man have not been released.

The arrest and charges were made public early Monday, with Wilson being held accountable for her actions. She has been officially charged with one felony count of attempted first-degree murder. Her arrest came to pass after she was identified at the 5100 block of S. Wentworth Ave., where officers took her into custody.
